          Every child care professional has a reason and a story behind coming into this profession. Here is mine. For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to become an elementary school teacher, and no, not because of the money ;)! I simply believe that it is one of the most rewarding professions one can have.  I have always enjoyed working with children, and my life has often allowed me that opportunity. While I received my B.A. degree from San Marcos State University, I had my first child before I could go for my Master's or the Teaching Credential. After I had my son, I realized that I wanted to do everything in my power to be close to him. I decided to work from home, and the idea for the Active Learning Center was born. 
         I knew from the beginning that Active Learning Center Child Care would not be a "typical" child care. I wanted to provide an environment which would inspire and encourage children to learn. An environment which would not only focus on who these children are today, but also who they may become years from now. I believe that a child's future greatly depends on the present. As the Director and the Teacher at ALC, I promise to provide your child with the highest level of care possible. The kind of care I would expect for my own child. I will  help your child get prepared for kindergarten, celebrate their strengths and most importantly, work to instill a life-long love of learning. 
         As the teacher and owner of Active Learning Center I strongly believe that children depend on adults to offer them visions, and nurture their dreams. As a proffesional child care provider, I am willing to do my part to make sure that children grow up believing that they are capable of reaching their dreams, no matter what they may be.
